Jonathan Crist, M.D., is a concerned and attentive sports medicine specialist caring for the Portland Metropolitan community. Dr. Crist attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where he received his medical degree, and completed his residency in family medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. He continued his training by completing a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Utah.
Dr. Crist practices at The Portland Clinic. He is board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Crist’s clinical interests include sports concussion management, non-operative treatment of osteoarthritis, and athletic pubalgia (sports hernia). He has treated and managed a diverse range of musculoskeletal disorders and is committed to providing the best comprehensive medical care available.

I sought out Dr. Crist for a second opinion on some knee pain I’ve been having. His exam was thorough, and his diagnosis and explanation of the same clear. He had me feeling much more at ease with the accuracy of the diagnosis than the first health care provider I saw for the same condition. I’d definately recommend Dr. Christ for orthopedic conditions.

Dr Crist is the diamond in the ruff of sports medicine doctors. I have seen him for many ailments over the years and he always remembers me, asks how life is, and makes painful experiences somehow more manageable than when I walked in the door. Wonderful! Dr. Crist was very thorough in my visit. He took the time to actually explain the interworkings of the shoulder joint (came in for shoulder injury) and drew a picture so I could visually see it. He took his time and didn't rush through the visit. He gave me pt's to see and said that he would be comfortable with any of them. Excellent bedside manner and patient care!
