About Dr. Jonathan Jennings
Dr. Jennings was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and relocated to North Carolina before college. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biological Sciences with a Minor in Biotechnology from North Carolina State University. He was a medical researcher in cardiology at Duke University before attending and completing medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Jennings has worked with culturally and economically diverse populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a child, he observed his mother experience many complications from uncontrolled hypertension that forced her to quit her job. He decided at a young age, medicine was an opportunity to make an influential impact in the lives of his family and community. He gravitated to primary care because he believes preventative healthcare is the most effective approach. He aspires to provide every individual a patient centered healthcare plan that reduces any and all barriers to a happy and abundant life. He believes happiness is the essence of health and he hopes he can offer some amount of happiness, reassurance and/or peace in every visit.
