Jonathan is a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner currently practicing at Excel Psychiatry in McKinney, TX. He specializes in treating a variety of mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD.
Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Henderson State University in 2012 and his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has worked in diverse clinical settings, including critical care, the emergency room, and the Neuro ICU.
Jonathan served in the United States Army for 10 years as both a medic and an Infantry Officer. He has a strong desire to help those in need and is dedicated to ensuring his patients feel cared for, heard, and respected.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Excel Psychiatry in McKinney, TX. Working closely with Dr. Zia I provide psychiatric care to adults. I work to truly understand what you may be going through. I strongly believe in using both medication and therapy to meet my clients' needs. For those with complex or chronic mental health needs, we offer both Spravato and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments.
I offer a safe place to discuss what you might be going through without judgment. If you need help and are seeking medication for your symptoms, please schedule an appointment. We offer both in person and telehealth appointments. I will be glad to help you in any way possible.
As a 10 year Army veteran, I’m able to provide services to active duty members, veterans, and their families from a unique standpoint. I understand the challenges you and your family may be going through related to service, deployment, or separation. If you need help outside of or in addition to your VA healthcare, we are here for you.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
We will contact you within 24 hours to complete your booking and set up your patient portal. Please, respond to any phone call or text message that comes from the practice.
Disability: We do not do disability paperwork for new patients. Patients must be established with the practice for a minimum of 30 days.
Payment: Payment is expected at the time of service and a payment method is expected to be kept on file. If you are not comfortable with this, please, select another practice.
ADHD: Patients seeking ADHD treatment must be seen in person on initial consultation. If you have records from a previous psychiatrist or psychologist, please, have them available. We do not accept diagnoses from a primary care provider.
We generally have next day appointments available and after hours appointments can sometimes be arranged. Please, ask if there is other availability that might better suit you.
During our visit, you will be given the opportunity to share your story free of judgment. We are empathetic to what you may be going through and are compassionate about helping you with your struggles. At the end of the consultation, clients can expect a full diagnosis, treatment plan, and follow up scheduling.

Ongoing session: $150 for 30 minutes

All patients are required to keep a payment method on file. You will not be billed until the time of service. There is a $75 fee for no show or cancellation within 24 hours. Rescheduling is free of charge.
