Dr. Jonathan Ortego, MD

Psychiatrist
CA
I am a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I have experience treating various psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. I work with my clients to formulate a personalized treatment plan that focuses on their well-being, functioning, and creating lasting change. My approach As a psychiatrist, my main approach to mental healthcare is through medication management. Given my experience, however, I believe the best outcomes come from the combination of medication and psychotherapy, and I attempt to include elements of both during our appointments. My focus I have experience treating people of all ages, with various mental health needs. Whether someone is suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, anxiety, or trauma-related disorders, I believe that the work my clients and I do together can improve their quality of life. I also have experience working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, people of color, women, and military veterans. My communication style I hope to create a compassionate and open environment for my clients during our sessions. Data suggests that the best outcomes occur when an individual feels most comfortable with their provider, and I aim to accomplish this in every patient interaction. I also encourage clients to discuss how they wish to be helped and any issues they may have had with past providers so that we may work together to find the best approach to their care. My journey to mental healthcare I went into medical school knowing I wanted to pursue psychiatry. While studying neuroscience and anthropology in college, I became fascinated with the brain and human behavior. As mental health struggles have continued to increase in today's society, so has my passion for my work and the opportunity to help ease the emotional pain and suffering of my clients. My goals for you I work with my clients to establish their individual goals for treatment.
