About Dr. Jonathan Pewitt
Jonathan Pewitt, M.D. is a native of Franklin, Tennessee. After high school, he enrolled in the U.S. Army and served as an M1A1 Tank driver at Fort Riley, Kansas. After his years of service, he pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology. After graduating, he served in the Peace Corps with his wife, Amber, as a biology teacher in Tanzania, East Africa.
After his time in the Peace Corps, he returned to Tennessee where he attended East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society for being one of the top students in his class. After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree, he completed an internship in general surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then went on to complete his dermatology residency in Chicago at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he was selected as chief resident during his final year. Following his residency, Dr. Pewitt moved to Northwest Georgia in 2011 and has been practicing dermatology in Rome, Georgia, while teaching internal medicine and transitional year residents at Redmond Hospital.
Dr. Pewitt is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and treating a wide variety of medical dermatologic conditions as well as performing surgery for the removal of skin cancer.
Dr. Pewitt enjoys spending time with his wife, Amber, and their two sons, Davis and Harrison. His hobbies include CrossFit, cosplay, traveling, hiking, and running. He lives in Rome, Georgia.

Dr Pewitt is so serious to make sure your skin cancer cells etc are healthy and what treatments are needed . So happy to have him back in Rome .
