What is your typical process for working with clients?
The process of working together at JNP Mental Health is designed to be clear, supportive, and fully individualized from the very beginning.
It starts with a comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluation, typically lasting 60 minutes. During this thorough session, we will explore your current concerns, symptoms, full medical and psychiatric history, current medications, and personal goals in detail. I will also assess how mental health symptoms may be connected to any chronic medical conditions you are managing. This allows me to gain a complete understanding of your situation and begin forming an effective treatment plan.
After the initial evaluation, we will discuss my clinical recommendations and work together to create a personalized plan that aligns with your needs and preferences. This plan may include medication management, supportive psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, lab testing, or coordination with other healthcare providers.
Follow-up appointments are usually scheduled every two to four weeks initially, depending on your specific situation. These visits typically last 20-45 minutes and focus on reviewing your progress, monitoring medication effectiveness and side effects, adjusting the treatment plan as needed, developing coping skills, and supporting overall stability and wellness. Many clients benefit from combining medication management with supportive therapy during the same visit.
