What should a new client know about working with you?
I want every new patient to know that seeking help is a sign of strength, and my goal is to make you feel comfortable, respected, and supported from your very first visit. I understand that discussing your mental health can feel overwhelming, so I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you can openly share your concerns without fear of criticism or stigma. I believe that the best outcomes occur when patients feel heard and are active participants in their care.
During your first appointment, I take the time to understand you as a whole person—not just your symptoms. We will review your medical history, psychiatric history, current concerns, medications, lifestyle, family history, and personal goals. This comprehensive evaluation helps me develop an accurate diagnosis and create a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. I encourage questions throughout the visit and make sure you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, expected benefits, possible side effects, and what to expect moving forward.
My approach combines evidence-based medication management with supportive psychotherapy, patient education, and practical coping strategies when appropriate. I believe mental health is closely connected to physical health, relationships, work, school, sleep, nutrition, and everyday stressors, so I consider all aspects of your life when developing your treatment plan. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, I individualize care based on your unique experiences, values, and goals.
Follow-up visits are focused on monitoring your progress, adjusting treatment when necessary, addressing new concerns, and celebrating improvements along the way. I believe that healing is a collaborative process built on trust, consistency, and open communication. Whether you are seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, insomnia, or another mental health condition, my commitment is to provide compassi
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My approach begins with getting to know you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. During your initial appointment, I complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that includes discussing your current concerns, medical and psychiatric history, medications, family history, lifestyle, stressors, and personal goals. This thorough assessment allows me to develop an accurate diagnosis and create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
If medication is recommended, I will explain the purpose of each medication, expected benefits, possible side effects, and alternative treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your care. I believe in shared decision-making and encourage patients to ask questions and actively participate in every aspect of their treatment.
In addition to medication management, I incorporate supportive psychotherapy during appointments when appropriate. We may discuss coping strategies, stress management techniques, behavioral changes, sleep hygiene, emotional regulation, and practical tools to help improve your overall well-being. I also provide education about your diagnosis and treatment plan so you feel confident and informed throughout your care.
Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring your progress, evaluating how well your treatment plan is working, managing medications when needed, and addressing any new concerns or life changes. Together, we will regularly review your goals and make adjustments to ensure your treatment continues to meet your needs as you progress.
