About Jose Ruiz

Jose Ruiz, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at BritePath Medical, seeing patients in Phoenix and Anthem, AZ, both in the office and by video. He provides primary care for children, teens and adults, with a special focus on mental health and ADHD.
Mr. Ruiz evaluates and treats anxiety and depression, and provides ADHD care for both children and adults. His approach includes a thorough evaluation, a personalized treatment plan, medication management when appropriate, and regular follow-up. He works closely with patients and parents to set clear goals, and coordinates referrals to counseling or specialty care when needed. He also manages chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, treats acute illnesses, and provides preventive and wellness care.
Mr. Ruiz has served as a medic in the Army National Guard since 2007. His work there includes behavioral health case management, mental health screening and suicide prevention for soldiers. He also brings hands-on experience as an ICU nurse, flight nurse and paramedic. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Purdue University.
Mr. Ruiz aims to create a calm, judgment-free space where patients of all ages feel comfortable talking about their mental health. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

The provider seems like he was a bit rushed to get through my appointment. However, the provider did go through everything that I wanted to go through in the appointment. There were a lot of things that I wanted to go through in the appointment and, even though I felt kind of rushed through the appointment, I do feel that the provider did give me his full attention and was trying to do his best to help me. Overall, I would say that I had a pleasant experience.

I had a great experience with Jose Ruiz, APRN. He was kind, patient, and took the time to really listen to what I had to say. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and made sure all of my questions were answered before I left. I never felt rushed, and I left feeling confident about my care. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a provider who genuinely cares about their patients.
