About Dr. Josef Geldwert
Dr. Josef J. Geldwert is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a recognized authority on the most advanced surgical techniques to correct bunions and hammertoes. He is the Podiatrist for the US Open Tennis, Co-Medical Director of the NYC Triathlon, and the inventor of the Hyperflex Bunion Correction System, a non–bone-breaking, non-fusion correction system. Dr. Geldwert earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his Residency in Podiatric Surgery at Northlake Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery, the American Society of Foot Surgeons, and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. Additionally, he holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Geldwert is on the faculty in the Department of Orthopedics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Please note that Dr. Geldwert does NOT follow the New York State public health laws that *legally require* masking in all medical facilities. If you are immunocompromised, high risk, or just don't want to be exposed to respiratory pathogens, I would NOT recommend seeing Dr. Geldwert (as far as I could tell, everyone else working at the practice was masked).

I never felt welcomed. I did get useful information, but no recommendation on how to remedy my situation other than, it will take five months for nail to grow out. In the past I was treated, but my foot could have been numbed more, it was uncomfortable. I feel terrible that I did not know how to get the care I need. I have to find another podiatrist. The more I think about it...it was terrible.

Dr. Geldwert is the best podiatrist I’ve seen and I’ve seen many! I started experiencing issues with my feet along with an autoimmune condition that Dr.Geldwert knew straight away that this was not just about the feet. This was one thing that really stood out to me about Dr.Geldwert was that he didn’t just care about the ankle down. His custom orthotics are the best I’ve had (and again I’ve had many!), with Dr.Geldwert taking the time at our appointments to help make small adjustments to give my feet the best support. I’ve sent many of my friends to Dr.Geldwert and can vouch he doesn’t just do a one fit fix for every patient - my friends all received fantastic care which was tailored exactly to their needs. I advise anyone looking for a podiatrist to run to this office ASAP! Or in my case at the start of my treatment, hobble slowly. You WILL NOT be disappointed!

Dr. Geldwert was very thorough and mentioned possibilities to me that I had not heard before. In addition to looking at my feet and showing me stretches, he also watched me walk, which helped him to assess the pain that I was having. I highly recommend him.
