Dr. Joseph Swider, DO, is a board-certified psychiatrist licensed in the state of Texas. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed his residency in Psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical Center. With over 20 years of experience treating challenging mental health issues and more than 15 years of inpatient experience, Dr. Swider specializes in refractory depression and anxiety. He currently sees patients at Heading’s Austin clinic and via telehealth.
Dr. Swider accepts most insurance plans and treats a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, and refractory depression. For those struggling with treatment-resistant mental illness, he offers in-clinic consultations for specialized treatments such as Spravato, intramuscular ketamine, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). If you're looking for a doctor who is going to take his time reaching a diagnosis and be thorough with questions, keep searching. Not particularly compassionate around sensitive topics.
