About Dr. Joseph Zehentner
Joseph M. Zehentner, DPM, AACFAS is a board qualified podiatric surgeon born and raised in Eastern Long Island. He received his undergraduate degree from Quinnipiac University with a Major in Biomedical Science and Minors in Chemistry and Microbiology. He graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors.
Dr. Zehentner earned his doctorate degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Manhattan, where he was greatly involved in teaching students and holding various education positions. Dr. Zehentner was a volunteer at multiple community medical events and a part of the medical team at the NYC Marathon.
After receiving his doctorate degree, Dr. Zehentner completed a comprehensive podiatric surgical and medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical center in West Islip, NY. During his training, he served as Co-Chief Resident and received advanced training in reconstructive forefoot, rearfoot and ankle surgery. He also completed the ACFAS Foot and Ankle Arthroscopy surgical skills course, the Bako Podiatric Dermatopathology Fellowship, and Podiatry Institute Forefoot surgical skills course.
Dr. Zehentner is a driven, passionate, and well-trained podiatric physician who cares about his patients. He takes the time to thoroughly explain a diagnosis, treatment, and plan to all of his patients. His interests include sports medicine of the lower extremity, trauma, diabetic wound care, and elective surgery.

Office scheduling is well managed and I have typically been seen within 5 minutes of scheduled appointment time. Dr. Zehentner has been helpful with asking good questions as well as answering mine. He’s also been helpful with explanations about causes for my issue and remedies to address them. I highly recommend the practice and him in particular.

Being a new patient I was very pleased with my entire visit. The front desk personnel were friendly & patient. Dr. Zehentner was very good. He explained my condition with clarity as well as the possible treatments. I was definitely very pleased with my entire visit at Suffolk Foot & Ankle in Riverhead.

Staffs was friendly, once I filled out the rest of my paperwork I was taken back for X-rays, the girl who did the X-rays was very sweet. After the X-rays I waited a few minutes until the Dr. came in. He communicated well, listened to my issues and I did not feel rushed like at other drs offices. I would recommended 10/10. What a great experience!

I am very pleased with the office over all. Staff was very friendly. No wait time when I checked in & the doctor was awesome. I had an ankle issue for a long time he helped right away. Didnt even feel the needle when he did my injection & I hate needles! 10 out of 10!
