Meet Dr. Josephine Anuforo “Dr. Joe” A board-certified internal medicine provider with expertise in adult and geriatric care. Born in Nigeria but raised in America, Dr. Anuforo migrated to the United States with her family in 2004. Her first port of call was Minnesota, where she attended the University of St. Catherine in Saint Paul and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Biochemistry. She then went on to Ross University School of Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine. Her medical education included 18 months of tropical medicine in Dominica, West Indies. She returned to the United States to complete the rest of her medical education and clinical rotations in New York. Dr. Anuforo completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. John's Episcopal Hospital, also in New York. After residency, she moved to Georgia to be closer to her family. Since then, Dr. Anuforo has traveled and practiced as a locum tenens physician. Dr. Joe currently lives in Douglasville, Georgia. She is very passionate about medicine and well versed in patient relations. “All are welcome here.” Her extensive local and international travel experiences have enhanced her skills and knowledge, allowing her to be more empathetic and open in connecting with her patients.
