My journey to mental healthcare What really attracted me to this career is the deep desire to help others through mental health struggles. Seeing patients make progress, gain insight, and reclaim their lives is what keeps me motivated. My goals for you As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I approach goal setting collaboratively, ensuring that the patient’s values, strengths, and readiness for change are central to the process. I use SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals to create clear and realistic objectives that promote progress in mental health and well-being. Our first session During your first session, we’ll discuss your medical and mental health history, current concerns, and treatment goals in a supportive and nonjudgmental space.
