TX
I am a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides compassionate, patient-centered care for adults seeking support with their mental health. My clinical focus includes psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care for concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, PTSD, and related conditions. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and practical. I take time to listen to each patient’s symptoms, concerns, goals, and treatment history so we can develop a care plan that fits their individual needs. I believe patients should feel heard, understood, and involved in their treatment decisions. My goal is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where patients can openly discuss their mental health concerns and work toward improved stability, functioning, and quality of life. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tarleton State University and my Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner focus from the University of Texas at Tyler.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to make each visit feel comfortable, respectful, and collaborative. I want patients to feel heard, not rushed, and involved in their treatment decisions. During our first appointment, I will take time to understand your symptoms, history, current concerns, goals, and any past treatment experiences so we can create a plan that makes sense for you. My approach is practical and patient-centered. I focus on psychiatric evaluation, medication management, education, and ongoing follow-up care. While I do not provide standalone ongoing therapy, I do believe in supportive conversations during visits and helping patients better understand their symptoms, treatment options, and next steps. I value open communication and honesty. If something is not working, we will talk through it together and adjust the plan when appropriate. My goal is to help you feel supported while working toward improved stability, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first visit, I focus on getting a clear understanding of what you are experiencing and how it is affecting your daily life. We will review your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, sleep, stressors, substance use when relevant, and any previous treatment or diagnoses. My goal is to understand the full picture before making recommendations. From there, we will talk through possible diagnoses, treatment options, and whether medication may be appropriate. I will explain the reasoning behind any recommendations, including expected benefits, possible side effects, and what follow-up should look like. Follow-up visits are usually focused on how you are doing since the last appointment, how medications are working, whether there are side effects, and whether any adjustments are needed. I also like to check in on sleep, mood, anxiety, focus, daily functioning, and overall progress. I do not provide standalone ongoing talk therapy, but I do include supportive conversation, education, and practical coping guidance during medication management visits. When therapy would be helpful, I may recommend working with a therapist in addition to psychiatric medication management.
