About Dr. Juan Escobar
Dr. Juan M. Escobar has been practicing Cardiology for 27 years since completing his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree, completed his residency in Internal Medicine, and his fellowship?all at the University of Texas Southwestern. He sought to begin his medical career in Dallas, subsequently achieving Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases, as well as entry as a Fellow to the American College of Cardiology. He initially worked as an Instructor of Medicine and later as an attending physician at Baylor Hospital. For five years, he was part of the Congestive Heart Failure and transplant service, providing care to hospital and outpatients. He then moved to El Paso, Texas, where he practiced non-interventional cardiology for 20 years, delivering medical services in a medically underserved community.
In 2019, Dr. Escobar began a personal goal of obtaining a Master of Public Health online at George Washington University, with an emphasis on global health?a program he graduated from in August 2021. In 2022, he took a sabbatical year to allow time for volunteer work at World Medical Missions in Keriya at Tenwek Hospital for two months, as well as traveling in his native Colombia. Prior to joining Associates MD in July 2023, he worked for three months in a temporary capacity at Valley Verde Medical Center in Cottonwood, Arizona.
Dr. Escobar brings many years of experience to Associates MD, treating patients with all types of acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases. He has a special interest and expertise in the management of chronic heart failure. He believes in actively involving the patient and their family in the treatment of chronic heart diseases through education and counseling to achieve the best possible outcome, considering the complexity of the medicines and dietary changes necessary to reach that goal.

The address is wrong on Zocdoc, I got there 10 mins early and it turned out it wasn’t the right address. Then I was able to make it 2 minutes late and the doctor was very rude and condescending, even about my timing. Did not ask questions before assuming things about my habits, did not believe me, made fun of my tracking system with the devices. The definition of medical gaslighting. Do not recommend

I just met this cardiologist today, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Not only is he an excellent professional, but he also has such a positive energy—kind, respectful, and incredibly friendly.
