About Julia MacGlashan
Julia received a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science in Chicago. She is NCCAOM board certified and licensed to practice by the State of Illinois.
Julia's goal is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care, and her lighthearted and kind demeanor makes each treatment a joy. While she utilizes a variety of techniques tailored to each person's individual needs, Julia's treatments focus on balancing acupuncture meridians to help the body function more efficiently.
Utilizing this extraordinary medicine, Julia has treated a wide variety of conditions, including fertility, prenatal/postpartum, and gynecological conditions; headaches, chronic pain, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, digestion, and countless others. The harmony that acupuncture brings to the body permeates every aspect of a person's life. And so, it addresses not only the individual's main concern, but also prevents future illness and provides a general sense of well-being.
Julia believes that every person deserves to be heard, their health approached with understanding, and their treatment provided with the greatest quality of care. She will meet anyone in their current state of mind, body, and spirit, and work with them to get them where they want to go. Julia was born and raised in Chicago, where she currently lives with her husband and son.

I have been seeing Julia for about 18 months and she has helped so much! She is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate, always asking questions to find the right treatment plan. I have been seeing Julia for some time now for acupuncture services. I know she offers a wide variety of acupuncture services, but I personally have seen her for help with infertility, regulation of my hormones, reduction of stress and anxiety, and help with neck and back pain. I fully admit I was hesitant to try it at first, since I hate needles and I had a hard time understanding how it could be effective. But surprisingly, I actually had no issues with the needles - they are tiny and I can't see them, and while sometimes it's temporarily a little bit painful, overall it's a good experience. After the needles go in you chill out in a dark room for awhile and it's actually very soothing and relaxing. And, it is miraculous how much relief the treatments give. Julia herself is a very knowledgeable and caring person. She explains anything you want to know about what she's doing and why, and why the treatments work. She also provides suggestions for what to do at home and she sells herbs that can assist with your treatment while at home. I highly recommend her!

I've been seeing Julia for 5+ years now for chronic pain and she has played a critical role in helping me getting back on my feet and living a normal life after many years of not being able to manage normal daily routine activities. Not only is Julia expertly knowledgeable in acupuncture and cupping, but also in how medicinal herbs and nutrition can work together in helping your mind and body heal. She is one of the most compassionate and caring health care providers I have ever worked with. She really takes the time to listen to you, she never rushes you and she is undaunted in resolving your health issues - Julia never gives up on you and never lets you give up on yourself! I honestly don't know where I would be without her - to say she has changed my life is an understatement.
