Dr. Julie Colton, DACM

Dr. Julie Colton, DACM

Acupuncturist
4386 Broadway, New York, NY
Julie has always been fascinated by the intelligence of the human body. She earned her degree in Cellular Biology and Fine Mathematics with a clear plan: become a physician. She believed science held the answers to healing. Life, however, led her down a different path. When her daughter was diagnosed with autism, Julie stepped away from the future she had mapped out and began searching for every possible way to help her daughter thrive. That journey transformed her understanding of health. She discovered that healing extends beyond the physical body and began exploring Yoga, Reiki, Pilates, Music, and other mind-body practices. Each experience revealed another dimension of health, resilience, and the connection between mind and body. Her search eventually led her to Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she found the bridge she had been looking for: a way to combine the scientific foundation she valued with a more comprehensive approach to healing. Julie earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and became nationally certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. Today, she integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine, functional medicine, and Eastern and Western nutrition to address the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms. She specializes in women’s health and pain relief, providing thoughtful, individualized care designed around each patient’s unique needs, health history, and goals. Having navigated an overwhelming health journey within her own family, Julie understands what it feels like to search for answers and want someone who truly listens. For Julie, healing is not simply about relieving symptoms. It is about helping patients understand their bodies, restore vitality, build resilience, and return to the lives they want to live. Her goal is for every patient to leave feeling heard, supported, empowered, and never alone in their healing journey.
