Dr. Juliet Nichols has been a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2002 and has been practicing psychiatry for over 25 years.
While an expert in psychopharmacology, Dr. Nichols has an integrative approach to treatment and she often incorporates psychotherapeutic techniques when appropriate, tailoring every treatment to each patient's individual needs.
She completed her Psychiatry residency at Stony Brook-SUNY and Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. Over the last two decades, Dr. Nichols served as an attending psychiatrist at JT Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY, where she became proficient in delivering stellar psychiatric care in a variety of settings. She specializes in treating adult and geriatric mental illnesses, including: Depression, Anxiety Disorders (eg. OCD, Panic Disorder, GAD, PTSD), ADHD, and Cognitive Disorders in the elderly.
Dr. Nichols strives to help her patients gain insights into their inner conflicts, unveil their strengths, accept their limitations, and build their coping skills. Her approach is dynamic, straightforward, and empathic so patients always feel safe, understood, and at ease. She engages the patient to be an active participant in treatment decision-making, creating a strong therapeutic alliance.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I’ve had anxiety disorders my whole life and symptom depression Dr. Nichols has helped me so many times he get on my feet sure the medicine helps to but I’ve had family members killed and couldn’t do it out of her because it was hard everybody needs a good psychiatrist and she cares about people

Dr. Nichols is the most knowledgeable, skilled and caring psychiatrist I have ever come to know. I myself have been a mental health professional for 15 years now and by far -there is no one better then Dr. Juliet Nichols.
She never rushes your appointment and is always extremely thorough regarding any changes in your life and your emotional well-being. She is the only psychiatrist I know who spends the time with her patients and remembers every single detail of their lives. She has made a very strong positive impact on my life particularly and I feel so blessed to have her as my doctor.

Dr Nichols is fabulous. She is the most caring, considerate and upstanding Dr I’ve ever seen.
Dr Nichols truly listens to what you’re saying. She seems to ask just the right at the right time. That quality makes you think and evaluate your situation in different ways, ways that you might not have thought of without her. That being said, Dr Nichols has helped me be a better advocate for myself and I sincerely appreciate and respect her knowledge.
