About Dr. Justin Macklin

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Macklin relocated to Phoenix in 2015 and has been seeing patients of all ages in retail, private practice, and academic clinic settings. Dr. Macklin received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He then completed his optometric training at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago which included internships in Arizona, Colorado, and Kentucky. Dr. Macklin also elected to complete a one-year residency program at the Lexington VA Medical Center where he diagnosed and treated patients suffering from ocular diseases such as dry eye syndrome, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Aside from his interests in medical optometry, Dr. Macklin also has extensive experience fitting all types of soft contact lenses including multifocal lenses for presbyopia. Outside of the office, Dr. Macklin enjoys golf, hiking, attending live events, watching sports, and exploring new restaurants. He has a growing family that includes his wife, Becky, their son Bryce, and two dogs.
