Getting to know Kaitlyn Sroka

Hi there, I'm Kaitlyn! My name is Kaitlyn Sroka. I earned my Post-Master’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Walden University and my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Salisbury University. I work with adults and adolescents of various backgrounds and take a non-judgmental approach to patient care. I am especially passionate about helping patients struggling with anxiety, depression and mood disorder diagnoses related to our rapidly changing world. My approach My approach to providing mental health care is based on individual patient needs. I prefer to listen to patients to work together to devise a treatment plan that meets the needs of those I serve. Through the Theory of Interpersonal Relations, I believe for the provider-patient relationship to succeed, we must build a working relationship based on trust. Together, we will develop an effective treatment plan based on your needs and insight. My focus I have experience working with patients of various backgrounds. I have learned I have the most success working with adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression and mood disorders. I attentively listen to patient needs and goals of treatment to provide medication management to assist in better managing symptoms that often interfere with the ability to lead a happy, health life. My communication style I believe each patient requires a varying environment in order to best feel heard and understood. I am able to adjust to your needs and desires from care in order to create a calm, safe environment to share your concerns and goals of treatment. I create a space for you to feel comfortable sharing what you have been struggling with and to feel confident we will create a safe and effective treatment plan that meets your goals. My journey to mental healthcare I worked for several years as a registered nurse, prior to returning to school to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Makes you jump through hoops for medication you’ve been on for many years and made me go off my medication because of refusal to fill. Never had such a horrible experience in my life. Truly horrified at the lack of care for patients.
