My practice approach is whole-body health, a holistic approach to health that considers the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual factors that contribute to a person's well-being. It's based on the idea that these aspects of health are interconnected and that taking care of them can lead to a more harmonious state of well-being. My approach When working with clients I use a humanistic approach, developing goals of care that are rooted in the individual’s strengths, understanding their human potential for goodness, and a focus on the positive. My focus I have a passion for helping those struggling with both a substance use disorder and a mental health disorder. My communication style I believe knowledge is power so I try and create a learning environment that allows the client to learn about the disorder as well as treatment options. My journey to mental healthcare As a seasoned healthcare professional, I have witnessed the devastating impact of untreated mental disorders; significant impairment in the individual's quality of life, physical illness, limited career opportunities, and impaired relationships. Working with these individuals by building on their strengths, understanding their human potential for goodness, and focusing on the positive is the foundation on which I have built my practice. My goals for you First, what matters most to the client? Second, how will the treatment options impact the patient (desired effects of the treatment, side effects, cost-effectiveness)? Third, is the treatment option sustainable? My first session with you I want the patient to feel heard and understood and know there is hope.
