About Dr. Katherine Mitchell

I believe physicians and patients are partners who must work together to promote health and wellness. My job is to educate patients so they understand my recommendations and feel empowered to take charge of their health. I want patients to be honest and openly share concerns so we can work as a team. I aim for office visits to be conversations. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families personally. I also ask for patience when I have doctor’s visits and sometimes run behind, and I look forward to our time together. I entered medicine because of my passion for studying the human body and mind and my desire to help patients and families in illness and health. This desire grew from watching my grandfather, a family physician, care for families for over 50 years. I admired how families trusted him through challenging moments. I wanted this type of relationship, which is why I chose family medicine—to care for patients of all ages and see them through life’s milestones. I earned my Bachelor’s from Moravian College and my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my internship and residency in Family Medicine at Crozer-Keystone Health System. I support the Boys and Girls Club and recently ran a half marathon for the American Cancer Society. I have volunteered to educate diabetic patients about their disease and healthy lifestyle and organized fundraisers for troops overseas. I enjoy spending time with my husband and families and love to run, read, and travel when time allows!
