Dermatologist
566 E St, Lincoln, CA
I was born and raised in sunny California and did my undergraduate education at the University of Washington, followed by the University of California, San Diego. I then attended medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, during which I completed an extra year of education as a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellow. I graduated with a research distinction and headed northward to the land of the pine in sweet North Carolina. I spent 3 wonderful years doing my dermatology training at the University of North Carolina, where I learned as much about my passion for the earth and soil (and boot-stomping bluegrass music!) as I did about dermatology. I love that place. I returned to California, where I worked as a medical dermatologist for Kaiser-Permanente for five years. I worked as a general dermatologist, but I developed a special interest in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis. I became very interested in phototherapy as a very effective, non-pharmacologic treatment option. My interest in phototherapy led me to open Body and Sol Phototherapy Clinic, which quickly evolved to Shine Functional Dermatology as I was educated in functional medicine and incorporated it into my practice. I believe functional medicine holds the key to reversing chronic disease. The core principal of functional medicine is that through education, support and lifestyle medicine, you can heal and take back your health. The most rewarding part of my practice is to help guide people through this process.
