Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
NH
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized care to adolescents and adults. My diverse clinical background includes psychiatric care, critical care, emergency and acute care, correctional healthcare, and extensive work with individuals from underserved communities. I provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic clarification, medication management, and ongoing treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric conditions. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered. I believe effective psychiatric care begins with listening and understanding the whole person—not simply treating a diagnosis. Together, we will develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique experiences, concerns, strengths, and goals. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your care. Whether you are beginning mental health treatment or seeking a new approach after previous treatment, I will work with you to promote stability, improve daily functioning, and support meaningful, long-term wellness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that I take time to listen, understand their concerns, and learn how symptoms are affecting their daily lives. Our first appointment will include a thorough review of your mental health, medical history, medications, current challenges, and treatment goals. My approach is collaborative and judgment-free. I will explain diagnostic impressions and treatment options clearly, including the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives of medication. You will be encouraged to ask questions and participate actively in decisions about your care. Treatment is individualized, and finding the right plan may require thoughtful adjustments over time. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and confident in a treatment plan designed to improve your stability, functioning, and overall quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first session will include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, sleep, relationships, daily functioning, and treatment goals. I may also use screening tools, review previous records, or recommend laboratory testing when appropriate. Diagnosis is an ongoing process, and I will explain my clinical impressions and any areas that require further evaluation. Follow-up sessions focus on your progress, medication effectiveness, side effects, symptom changes, and overall functioning. We will adjust your treatment plan together based on your response and preferences. I also incorporate supportive talk therapy, psychoeducation, coping strategies, and problem-solving into appointments when helpful. For clients needing ongoing or specialized psychotherapy, I encourage working with a therapist while I coordinate psychiatric medication management as part of the overall treatment plan.
