About Dr. Katya Adachi Serrano
I am a Family Doctor and Integrative Medicine specialist. After medical school at UCSF, I was excited to train in Family Medicine in Santa Rosa, CA, to have the breadth of training to know how to help any person or condition that might walk through my door, because that’s what family doctors do. However, I still felt something was missing. As a Native person (I am Ho-Chunk from my mother’s side, Japanese from my father’s side), I knew there was more to medicine than what modern medicine could offer. Although I knew well how to diagnose and treat diseases, I wanted to know how to help people return to health and maintain wellness.
Through a fellowship in Integrative Medicine, I attended herbalism school and became a Clinical Herbalist. I received osteopathic mentorship and trainings, and became a practitioner of the hands-on bodywork practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), including Craniosacral Therapy. I became the first MD to certify in Strain-Counterstrain by the Jones Institute.
With this combination of training, I was properly equipped to practice medicine in a way that made sense to me—armed with the best of medicine, old and new.
It is an honor and privilege to be a physician and to practice medicine. My work is in service of others, and I strive for every person I serve to experience dignity, respect, honor, and support to find the wellness they deserve.

Dr. Adachi is an excellent doctor. During the years I have been her patient, she has been very professional and I can say that she is someone who you can trust. As a result, you can feel very comfortable with her. During visits, she listens to your health concerns and she cares about helping you get to good health. In addition, Dr. Adachi is very caring and she gives you a lot of advice so that you can better your health. She is the first doctor I have met who actually cares about the patient’s well-being and she doesn’t force you to take medical treatments you don’t want to take. She makes sure you are aware of all the medical options there are and then she lets you decide what works best for you as the patient. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a provider and I couldn’t ask for a better primary care doctor.

Dr. Adachi is a great and nice doctor. I have been her patient for almost 3 years and she has always been very attentive while caring that I have good health. She is very patient during every visit I have had with her and when I have had questions about my health, she always makes sure that she answers my questions. I feel very comfortable with her and I really appreciate to have her as my doctor because I don’t have to go worried to appointments with her since I know Dr. Adachi is someone I can trust. I highly recommend Dr. Adachi as a doctor and friend. I wish there were more doctors like her.

Dr. Adachi is, by far, the most attentive, caring, and knowledgeable physician I have been lucky enough to encounter. She has a sense of calmness when you are around her and she speaks to you as a person that cares. I have never felt rushed when I'm with her, she answers every question I have, no matter how ridiculous it might be.
Dr. Adachi has an incredible knowledge about herbal medicine that has helped me in the past with issues that have occurred.
I highly recommend Dr. Adachi to anyone that would like to seek the core cause of your issues.
