And not only is he dedicated to his patients in the present, he s determined to influence the future of cardiothoracic surgery as well he is an assistant professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and a secretary at Long Island Jewish Medical Center Staff Society, an advocacy group for physicians at the medical center. I try to advocate for physicians as well as patients, he says. Dr. Hyman received his postgraduate medical training in both general and cardiothoracic surgery at New York University Medical Center, followed by a year of specialized fellowship training in advanced minimally invasive thoracic surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences and Cornell University Medical College. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Surgery, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, American Journal of Pathology and Journal of Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology.
