Khayriyyah Salaam, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Troy University. With a passion for healthcare rooted deeply in her family’s legacy, she was inspired by generations of dedicated providers, from her grandmother to her mother, aunts, and cousins. The appointment experience was normal and everyone I spoke to was friendly. My issue is with the follow up by my doctor. She sent in my test to be completed, but did not take the time to call me and review the results herself. I spoke with another staff member who was friendly, but not my doctor. A doctor should be explaining my test results not someone who wasn’t in the room when I was discussing my concerns. That is a MAJOR problem for me. I don’t like to bash people and especially those doing a service for me, so this is not an angry rant. This is simply the truth of what I experienced. I hope that this review resonates with the doctor if she sees the comment and that she continues to improve. No hard feelings, but a light needs to be shone on the issue.
