I am an experienced board-certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Master's in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have been practicing for more than 11 years and hold multi-state licensures. As a doctoral candidate, I have an affinity for education and continue to expand my research and knowledge to facilitate exceptional treatment for optimal patient outcomes.
I perform thorough psychiatric evaluations, formulate diagnoses, and treat mental health disorders including depression, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia/psychotic disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, and substance use disorders through evidence-based medication management. I demonstrate cultural awareness, sensitivity, and support for diversity, empowering patients by educating them on their diagnoses and encouraging active participation in their plan of care.
I approach each patient as a valuable individual and tailor their care accordingly. My patients know they have been heard and understood without judgment. I never received the proper instructions prior to my appointment.
When I called to alert the doctor that I couldn’t get in, she mentioned that she was still with another patient (10 minutes into my appointment time) and that if she would call me back if she didn’t see me on her screen. She never called back, nor did she call to follow up with me to make sure I was logged in.
Not the greatest first impression.
I’ll look for another provider.
