I use a holistic, person-centered approach, including pharmacologic interventions (e.g., antidepressants, mood stabilizers), Psychotherapeutic techniques (motivational interviewing, mindfulness), Lifestyle & behavioral interventions (sleep hygiene, exercise, nutrition), and Complementary therapies, when appropriate (e.g., yoga, meditation). I have a great deal of experience treating adolescents and adults with a history of trauma, PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, Bipolar disorder, ADHD, and a large geriatric population needing care for dementia. I aim to develop a trusting relationship in a calm environment where patients feel comfortable sharing freely with no judgment. I worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department for many years, and this is where I had my early experiences with mental health patients. My passion grew from there, and becoming a PMHNP allowed me to provide the most care within my ability to patients struggling with mental health. Understanding that mental health treatment is a journey, I like to understand where patients see themselves in having me join them on this journey, and that it will take both of us to reach their health goals.
