Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

My first meeting went exceptionally well with Dr. Schnitzer. She was very warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental. She asked the usual questions about my medical history and symptoms, but also just wanted to get to know me as a person. She clearly communicated diagnostic criteria, treatment options, and potential side-effects of medications. By the end, we determined which diagnosis I best fit via the DSM-V criteria and which medication to try first. We will re-evaluate in a month. I feel incredibly relieved and validated!
