Jana HealthCare is an internal medicine and weight loss clinic located in the heart of the diverse Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The clinic has been open for over 20 years with Laila Farhat, MD, at its forefront. Dr. Farhat is a passionate internist, weight loss specialist, and obesity medicine specialist who radiates a positive energy, inspiring each of her patients to better themselves and their health.
Dr. Farhat grew up in a quaint village in Lebanon. After graduating high school in 1988, she moved to Madrid, Spain, to pursue her medical degree at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Facultad De Medicina and eventually become a doctor. Once she completed her medical degree in 1994, she soon moved to the United States. There, she completed her residency at Brooklyn Hospital Center and became board certified in internal medicine.
In 2000, Dr. Farhat opened Jana HealthCare at its current location in Bay Ridge. Brooklyn. She speaks English, Spanish, and Arabic to serve the rich and diverse cultures of New York City. After several years in practice, Dr. Farhat noticed that many of her patients needed help with losing weight. It was then that she decided to become a certified health coach in order to relate to her patients’ struggles and offer them the correct guidance.
In addition to her weight loss programs, Dr. Farhat offers several innovative aesthetic treatments at Jana HealthCare to enhance patients’ natural beauty and boost their confidence. They can choose from an extensive list of services that includes dermal fillers like Radiesse® and Belotero®, laser hair removal, Botox®, Dermapen® microneedling, and HydraFacial®.

She was very different from most doctors I've seen through my adult life. She was very direct, asked proper questions to get the feedback needed to form a solution for me. And at the same time she was gentle speaking and genuinely cared about my issues not just nodding her head and agreeing like other doctors do. She didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all, almost reminded me of how nice doctors can be when I was a child going with my mother. I'm 31 and yes this is important as you form a professional relationship with your physician they know everything about you.

If you're thinking about choosing this doctor, I would highly NOT recommend her. There are better doctors and doctor offices. The atmosphere of the place doesn't seem sanitary, the place is small and claustrophobic, the employees are unwelcoming, unprofessional, and the wait is forever. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to come to this place.

Dr. Farhat is THE best doctor I've EVER been to. And being a person who suffers with Fibromyalgia, I've been to HUNDREDS! 1. She is easily accessible to anyone anywhere as she is in a very convenient location near both train and bus. 2. She is open 6 days a week with long hours. 3. If you don't have an appointment and it's urgent, she takes walk-ins and never turns people away. 4. She is by far, the most incredible quarter-back. She has recommended me to Rheumatologists, Physical Therapists, and more that are great. She also keeps track of what doctors you saw and their results. 5. She is knowledgeable about many specialties, illnesses, conditions and disabilities and gives the best advice. 6. She takes her time with her patients. 7. She is a compassionate, kind, caring person. 8. She gives needles without pain. 9. She gives you all required documentation you'll need for work, school, etc. 10. Her staff is very nice and friendly. I've honestly never met a better doctor. I'm thrilled to have found her.... I'm there every week! For whoever had negative things to say.... take a look at your complaints. "The waiting room was cramped"... So what? Are you paying for the size of the waiting room or the quality of the doctor? Also, of course a good doctor's office is always cramped, they have lots of patients!! And "The wait times are awful"... again... good doctor... she takes her time with her patients... duh... would you rather it be the opposite? "Her staff asked me for my insurance card several times"... They're perfectionists, they don't make mistakes, better safe than sorry. Overall, DR. FARHAT = AMAZING!

The office is small and very cramped. Receptionist was not knowledgeable about how much longer I needed to wait, and asked for insurance card multiple times. I was in the doctor's office for 1 hour and 50 minutes. In total I spent 12 minutes getting work done (routine blood work + about 4 minutes with the doctor).
