About Dr. Lauren Cruz

As a nurse, I spent nearly a decade in the emergency department watching my patients experience complications that I knew could have been avoided with excellent primary care. As a nurse practitioner, I love partnering with my patients as they navigate ways to protect their health. I recognize how integrated our health is into our relationships, careers, and community, and I consider it my privilege to help patients achieve their best possible outcomes. I work hard to listen well, continuously learn about best practice guidelines, and advocate for my patients. I enjoy working alongside patients on lifestyle medicine, chronic disease management such as diabetes and hypertension care, acute illness, and preventative care. Specifically, as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, I also am passionate about caring for survivors as they navigate follow-up care post assault. I adore reading and playing with my two young children, watching cooking shows with my husband, baking and decorating sugar cookies, running, serving at my church, and traveling anywhere my passport will take me. Preferably all with a London Fog in hand.
