About Dr. Lauren Ficks

Dr. Lauren Ficks received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego. She earned her medical degree in 1990 from Vanderbilt University Medical School in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Ficks completed her residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA Medical Center and went on to complete a fellowship in Endocrinology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism and is a member of the Endocrine Society. Dr. Ficks has been practicing Endocrinology in Ventura County since 2000. She served as an Assistant Clinical Professor and the Director of the Endocrine Teaching Clinic at Ventura County Medical Center for twelve years. Dr. Ficks also practiced at UCLA Health in Thousand Oaks within the Division of Endocrinology. Her dedication to patient care and her passion for teaching have earned her multiple teaching awards. She has contributed significantly to the education of young doctors through her work with the Family Medicine Residency program at VCMC and the Endocrine Fellowship program at UCLA.
