About Laurie Bornstein
Iowan by birth, Texan by choice, and an audiologist for over 20 years. I earned my Master’s in Audiology from the University of Texas, Dallas, and hold a Bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University. I strive to help patients determine the best options for their care, taking insurance, lifestyle, budget, needs, and wishes into consideration.
My background certainly extends beyond audiology. I’ve worked as a consultant with a major national chip manufacturer to improve digital speech processing algorithms. This specialized knowledge helps me make your hearing aids sound as good as possible.
In addition, I have served as an expert witness to help sort out liabilities related to hearing losses caused by accidents.
Everyone who visits is treated with the same level of courtesy and respect, whether you are a high-powered executive or a 90-year-old who has finally decided that the time is right for better communication.

Waited over an hour to be told my appointment was canceled and they allegedly emailed me for confirmation and cancelation (no email was found) and they didn’t take my insurance and after waiting over an hour past check in, said they would possibly be able to see me in between the other appointments as the doctor wasn’t there.

Laurie is an audiologist who REALLY knows what she's doing. As a sound engineer myself, I need to keep tabs on my hearing health, and I was able to rest easy in the knowledge that Laurie clearly has a VERY in-depth knowledge of hearing health. Would definitely recommend!

I was a little late to the appointment, which for most caregivers is a big no no (totally my fault, I got lost!). Laurie was very accommodating and understanding, and she had an open slot time and treated me as if I had been totally on time. I'm sure that she actually allowed me to stay a bit later than I should have. I have some issues that she addressed, and she suggested some new solutions for me to try out. She is in the process of writing an additional record for my VA doctors so that I can get further care there as well (they required a verification from an outside doctor, and Laurie is an expert in the area that I needed!!). I highly recommend her as a highly qualified specialist, and recommend her to anyone who needs help in her areas of expertise.

Laurie is a consummate professional, technically skilled, and genuinely interested in helping me hear better. And she goes far beyond that with her ability to know me and understand my specific circumstances. Hearing loss is both a physical and emotional challenge, and it takes more than just someone to sell you hearing aids. Laurie is also a really nice person. And that matters, now more than ever. Laurie is great! She is very technically competent, and truly has the patient's interests at heart. She provided my diagnosis, then help me sort through the various options to help remedy. And her pricing is extremely competitive. I have had several follow up appointments with her, and she has been always available and accommodating.
I found a gem here after many years with someone else. Where has she been!

Laurie was highly recommended to me by my ENT doc. She has lived up to that recommendation. Laurie is prompt, efficient, effective, knowledgeable, and professional. And thoroughly pleasant. I dread the day, which I expect to be many years from now, that she retires.

Laurie is great. She made sure the new hearing aids were working correctly and at a volume I could handle. And when I later lost one, she filed the claim with the insurance and got me all taken care of. She is personable, she listens, she cares. I got my first set of hearing aids from her, and when it was time to update, I came back to her for the second pair.

Dr Bornstein is quite helpful and knowledgeable and also has been very accommodating when I need to schedule an office visit. Bottom line: I really feel like I have the best equipment, for me. There is so much to know about the many products that are available for hearing loss - I'm glad I have an expert to consult with!
