About Dr. Lina Hu
I graduated from Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China in 1985. After 5 years training in Chinese medicine and western medicine, I spent three years focusing on acupuncture and obtained an MSc degree from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. During my MSc course, I worked on specificity of acupoint effects through the comprehensive evaluation of the acupuncture effect on the animal model and humans. In addition to my research work, I received extensive clinical experience through my mentor, the well-known Professor Yong-Jiang Xi. After receiving my research master's degree in acupuncture, I worked as an instructor in Heilongjiang University of TCM and practiced as a physician of acupuncture in the affiliated hospital. During my time at the hospital, extensive training and experience on acupuncture applied to different diseases allowed me to gain a broad knowledge base and ability to confidently manage my clinical practice.
In 1996, I earned my Ph.D in Biomedicine from the Kobe University School of Medicine in Japan. In 1998, I was awarded a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and worked at NIH as a Research Fellow for five years. Immediately after finishing my research work at NIH, I joined the Neuroimmunology Clinical Research Division of the Department of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a faculty, and worked there for nine years. Over the sixteen years that I have worked in the states, I have published a number of scientific papers in peer-reviewed professional journals.
I believe that the vast experiences I have gained over the last 30 years, not only from study in University of TCM and clinical practice, but also from biomedical research in the fields of neurology and immunology allow me to treat my patients with the utmost professionalism.

Dr. Hu was very professional, knowledgeable, to the point & altogether a pleasant person to spend time with & receive treatment from. I have experienced clear sinuses, no migraines, improved immune system & increased digestive system function as a direct result of her phenomenal treatment. Although immediate results are not always experienced in every patient, I could feel my sinuses & pressure in my ears clear which is exactly the effect I have received from other acupuncture treatments. She also performed cupping on my back to help relieve tension & improve circulation. Dr. Hu helped restore my health after traveling & missing treatments for a few months. I had a great experience on my first visit. I wanted to get back to doing acupuncture to maintain my overall health and well-being and to help me manage my work-related stress better. I had cupping for the first time.
Both of these made me feel good by the time I left. The cupping really helped with my sore back from some recent physical activity. I was more relaxed and focused when I left the visit. We created a schedule for how often I should receive acupuncture.
I'm looking forward to regular acupuncture treatments to help with my health goals.
