Getting to know Dr. Lindsay Legnon
Dr. Lindsay Legnon is board-certified in Psychiatry and has 15 years of experience in outpatient clinical psychiatry. Her focus is primarily on medication management, but she does incorporate brief cognitive behavioral therapy and supportive therapy when appropriate. If more extensive psychotherapy is felt to be beneficial, she will recommend a therapist and collaborate with them for optimal care.
She completed her medical degree at Louisiana State University in Shreveport and her residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, where she served as Chief Resident. After completing her residency, she worked primarily in outpatient clinics treating a wide range of mental health disorders.
She has extensive experience treating the major depressive disorder, a variety of anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, among others. Medication is felt to be an important tool for many in achieving wellness and, in addition, she encourages a holistic approach to improve outcomes. Her hope is to provide relief and help people achieve their goals in their journey back to wellness.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I made two appointments with this provider, both of which were canceled. For the first appointment I had to wait for the next availability which wasn’t until 2.5 weeks from date of booking, only for the appointment to be canceled 1-2 days before. Afterwards I booked the next available appointment which wasn’t for another 5 weeks! This seems to be a good provider based on ratings which is why I was willing to wait so long to be seen, but to have both my appointments cancelled the way they were, and then have no one to talk to about rescheduling was just so frustrating! It is already hard enough trying to find a good provider with availability , and I was happy to have found one but I was left so upset.

Absolutely the worst professional system. They screwed up my insurance and wasted hours of ky time. Someone canx my appt thinking the insurance wasnt verified. I got a notice it wss verified. I tried for days to get help and got nothing but inexcusable stupidity. Wasted days and hours of my time bc of their written notices of no show fees.

The office cancelled my appointment after my appt time. I went into the appt waiting room and wasn’t able to log in so i contacted support and was told my appt had been cancelled (with no warning). And that they could not rebook me bc I take ketamine (which is prescribed by pain mgmt doc). So now I only have 5 days left on my depression meds and with a weekend coming up I have 48 business hours to find a new psych (I waited two weeks for this appt to be cancelled on with no warning). Absolutely terrible and to not even be given the courtesy of being seen and explained why they can’t treat or prescribe meds if I’m on ketamine is just absurd

The reviews are real. Dr. Legnon was engaging throughout the entire visit. Although my visit was virtual I felt as if I was sitting right in front of her. She was thorough and gave me honest answers to questions that I had about any diagnosis or treatment plans. I relocated to another city which made it impossible for me to continue seeing my previous provider that I have been with for over 5 years so finding a new therapist made me extremely nervous. A patients mental health history and treatments is not something that the anyone would want to keep having to share with new providers. This was my first visit with this provider. I was very comfortable sharing my history with her. I will continue to see her.

I visited this psychiatrist with an urgent need to confirm a particular diagnosis. The doctor conducted a comprehensive assessment, asking detailed questions about my concerns. However, she mentioned that she didn’t specialize in the area related to my needs, which was surprising given the filter that I put on ZocDoc to find her. Despite this, she still provided a diagnosis, which left me more confused than ever. As a doctor I thought she could really help me.
Although ZocDoc indicated that she was in-network with my insurance, I was later charged. I left the appointment without the clarity I was seeking, feeling more worried and uncertain about my situation. Thankfully I was able to get the help I needed by a second opinion.
Overall, it feels like Im spending my hard-earned money without receiving the help or guidance I needed. The experience left me frustrated, and I don't feel it was worth the cost. I won’t be going back.

Dr Legnon was exactly what I needed. Even though it wasn’t a typical session, she made me feel very comfortable and answered any questions. She was very professional and well articulated, but remained empathetic the whole time. I especially appreciate she took the time to type out a summary not long after our session after saying it would be helpful for me to see it in words. I would definitely recommend her, just keep in mind Talkiatry cannot see patients that have been recently hospitalized or prescribe most stimulants.
