Lindsay Wexler, RD

Dietitian
WV
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and licensed dietitian. I earned my Bachelor's in Nutrition and Food Science from California State University, Chico. I have worked with collegiate athletes as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) at the University of Nevada, Reno. At UNR, I also helped patients preparing for bariatric surgery learn about their future changes in eating habits, as well as supported patients post-surgery as they adapted to their new bodies and nutrition needs. I am currently working on obtaining my Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO). My passion for nutrition started with sports nutrition, as I am a former collegiate triathlete and water polo player. When I was in college, my father was diagnosed with lymphoma. During his fight, I was introduced to his dietitian. Seeing the effect of nutrition on how he felt during and after treatment drove my desire to become a dietitian. When your body is fighting both a disease and the side effects of drugs, eating can be a major challenge. Helping patients find foods their bodies can tolerate during obstacles like taste changes, nausea, and appetite loss can support them in continuing treatment and preventing recurrence. To create a change in your life, your health, and how you feel, you need to put in the effort. I am the guide to help make these changes.
