I dread getting Pap smears, especially as an enby. But Dr. Franco attentively listened to requests of going slow. Resonating with my past experiences. They used my pronouns and gave me the option to do a self-pap (I never even knew that was an option!) they taught me how to do it. Answered all my questions. There was no feeling of judgement or reluctance when they asked me about the gender of my sexual partners. For the first time ever I felt extremely comfortable on an appt with the doctor, especially in the event of a Pap smear.

This office is not a trans-affirming place though they claim to be and they post a Pride flag on the door. When I called the office I was misgendered by a staff person and when I corrected them they did not apologize. Then, the intake paperwork conflates two questions that have different answers for any trans person who has gone through a legal name and gender marker change: it asks for sex assigned at birth, but then describes that what they are looking for is the sex on file with your insurance. For anyone such as myself who has legally changed their gender marker, sex assigned at birth is a different answer than current legal sex on file with insurance. I had to out myself in the public waiting room by asking a person at the front desk which information they were looking for because my sex assigned at birth is different than my legal sex on file with insurance. This meant that I had to discuss my genitals with a complete stranger in a public waiting room.

There was a decent wait but once Liz saw me, I never felt rushed. They spent plenty of time getting to know me, taking my history, and talking through concerns. I’d say a fair trade-off to have a provider spend time and seem like they actually care!

I have a lot of anxiety over health and doctors and hadn't been to a doctor since I was a child. I saw Dr. Franco had a lot of good reviews on here so I drove a bit out of the way to try and have a pleasant, or at least less unpleasant, experience. My expectations were exceeded. Dr. Franco was sooo kind and listened to everything I said, never made me feel bad about anything I threw out there, and offered me even more suggestions and solutions than I could have expected. I went in there today with so much anxiety and I left feeling heard, cared about, and understood. 10/10 doctor, we need more like them! :)

I can’t recommend Liz and their team enough. I’ve always been nervous going to the doctor because it can feel like a cold and dismissive experience but this was the exact opposite of that. Liz listened to each of my health concerns and worked with me to come up with a plan to address them and made me feel super comfortable and heard. Her team was also super friendly and made my lab testing an absolute breeze. I can say this took a lot of the anxiety out of managing my health and if you’re looking for a provider to actually listen to you look no further!

The only surprise was that the clinic is in a school. But it was such a great experience overall. Liz is a great listener, has a proactive attitude about issues, and explains things really clearly. The staff were super nice, and also helped me understand a few things I wasn't sure about re: my insurance.

My visit with Liz Franco was amazing! If you’re looking for someone who listens and really tries to understand what you’re going through, this person is for you! I had previously gone to a doctor in the city that was rude, rushed and pushed me to do things I didn’t want to. This is NOT Liz! I felt like I had all the time in the world with them, I felt they listened to all my concerns and never once did they push me to do something I wasn’t comfortable with. They always asked for consent and even asked for my pronouns which I respect. The only thing that threw me off was the clinic was in a school. This was an excellent experience for me and I can’t recommend them enough!
