Getting to know Lourdie Chachoute

I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) committed to providing compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based mental health care. I believe that mental health is an essential part of overall well-being, and my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where every patient feels heard, respected, and empowered throughout their care. With more than 15 years of diverse healthcare experience in critical care, primary care, respiratory therapy, and psychiatry, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individualized treatment plans for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, mood disorders, insomnia, and other mental health concerns. My broad clinical background allows me to consider both emotional and physical health when developing treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida, my Master of Science in Nursing from South University, and my Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) to further expand my clinical knowledge and continue providing the highest quality of care. I believe that the best outcomes are achieved through collaboration and open communication. I take the time to listen, educate, and involve my patients in every treatment decision. Whether you are seeking help for the first time or continuing your mental health journey, my commitment is to provide compassionate, respectful, and high-quality care that supports lasting emotional wellness and an improved quality of life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns. I understand that seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to ensure you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in every step of your treatment. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. I take the time to understand your unique experiences, symptoms, and goals before developing a personalized treatment plan. Depending on your needs, treatment may include medication management, supportive therapy, education, and practical lifestyle strategies to help improve your overall mental well-being. I believe the best outcomes come from working together. I encourage open communication, answer your questions, and make sure you understand your treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your care. My commitment is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that supports your long-term mental health and helps you achieve your personal wellness goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe that every patient deserves to be heard, understood, and treated with compassion. During your first visit, I conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to gain a clear understanding of your concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and personal goals. We will discuss areas such as mood, anxiety, attention and concentration, sleep, stress, past treatments, current medications, and any other factors that may be affecting your well-being. Using evidence-based guidelines, I work with you to develop an accurate diagnosis and create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs. Treatment may include medication management, supportive therapy, education, lifestyle recommendations, and referrals to psychotherapy or other specialists when appropriate. Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring your progress, evaluating how well your treatment is working, addressing any concerns or side effects, and making adjustments as needed. I believe in a collaborative approach to care, and with your permission, I coordinate with your primary care provider, therapist, or other healthcare professionals to ensure you receive comprehensive, high-quality care. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns and empowered to achieve better mental health and overall well-being.

I had a great experience with Lourdie at Orenda. She was kind, attentive, and really took the time to understand my concerns without making me feel rushed. I felt supported throughout and would absolutely recommend her.

The provider never showed up to my appointment. I’ve surmised that this issue happens somewhat frequently with providers connected to Orenda Psychiatry, as Lourdie is. I recommend looking up Orenda Psychiatry on Yelp before deciding to make a booking.
