Getting to know Dr. Luis Betancourt
I specialize in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. I provide comprehensive psychiatric and psychological diagnostic evaluations as well as evidenced and empirically-based psychotherapy & medication management treatment services for children, adolescents, adults and families. I have experience caring for Depressive, Bipolar, Autism spectrum, Anxiety, Substance abuse, Personality, Obsessive Compulsive, Tic, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation, Post Traumatic Stress and psychotic disorders. I also have experience and interest in the interface between religion-spirituality and psychiatry.
I moved to Charlotte in 2014 after training & working at Duke University Medical Center as a child and adolescent psychiatrist and along with a colleague opened Pediatric and Family Behavioral Health. I recently started Oasis Behavioral Health in Monroe and I’m deeply committed to continue to provide high-quality and compassionate care at this new location.

There’s nothing worse than going to a new doctor and during the visit they wanna make medication adjustments when you know the medicine that you’ve been on for years has been working well they actually decreased my ADHD medication which I’m very disappointed by considering that it has been a godsend maybe next time doctor you shouldn’t have physicians assistant do your work. I will not be returning?
