About Lukas Wolf
Lukas Wolf is a Licensed Acupuncturist in New York state. He graduated from Pacific College of Health and Science, New York and holds a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture. He is certified in Kampo Herbal medicine through Nigel Dawes's Kampo Institute and accredited by Tristate College. Lukas has studied Applied Medical Sinology at the Xinglin Institute analyzing one the medicine's oldest texts, the Huang Di Nei Jing. The goal of the study is to uncover deeper meaning from the ancient classics and expand their clinical application.
Lukas relies heavily on Tuina or Chinese Medical bodywork to diagnose and treat. He has been utilizing both the Zheng Gu and Zang Fu Tuina taught by Tom Bisio and overlays a lot of those principles onto Hara (abdominal) diagnosis in the Zen Shiatsu tradition he studied with Nigel Dawes. Treatments are similar to craniosacral or osteopathic treatments with elements of massage.
Japanese Acupuncture was the first acupuncture style that resonated with him and has been practicing it for almost 10 years. This style is gentle and subtle with profound effects. The goal is to not disturb the person while effecting necessary change. New Yorkers, and people in general, are over stimulated. This approach brings down the noise from the outside world so that the real imbalances can become apparent and treated.
He also utilizes Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and orthopedic needling. This style is helpful for sports, orthopedics and pain management. It involves unwinding the tissue through trigger points, motor points, fascial unwinding among other techniques. Though truth be told that's what acupuncture is and does no matter the style.
Effective treatments are created when there is synergy between the patient and practitioner. There is a phrase in Buddhism “Xin Qi Xin Liu” or “everything from the heart”. Lukas strives everyday to put those words into practice to create synergy and effect real change.

Lukas Wolf is a very caring person who handled my situation in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Lukas is a phenomenal acupuncturist: his treatments have been key to healing both acute things-like pain from an injury- but also for managing stress and other more subtle complaints. Lukas is a deep and sophisticated practitioner and his talents are far beyond those of many folks with far higher rates and less actual expertise. My only hesitation is that this review will make it harder for me to schedule!

Lukas really wants to know how he can treat you, wants to know how best to let you be of your best life. I've never had a better experience with an acupuncturist in my life. In the last 7 years that Lukas has been supporting my bodies health, I have felt better than I did my whole life. Lukas really takes the time to understand what you are feeling both emotionally and physically to give the best treatment. I go to Lukas at least 2 times a month to help with my scoliosis back pains and my painful menestral cycles. For me acupuncture is like visiting a mechanic for a tune up. These frequent visits and the time Lukas has had to understand my bodies stress responses keep me feeling my best, and able to continue achieving my potential while having so many health issues that would normally hold me back and keep in miserable in bed as I was since I was first diagnosed with scoliosis at age 13. He understands how emotional stress creates physical pains in different parts of the body and how to best treat you as a whole rather than just a particular spot.

I’ve seen Lukas for various health issues over the course of 1+ years. He’s a caring and generous practitioner. Lukas really takes the time to listen and understand each issue, and find the best treatment approach. Specifically, I’ve had a lot of relief from skin conditions and muscle tightness/pain through his treatments. Scheduling is always easy and the treatment rooms are very comfortable. I can’t recommend highly enough.

I have been seeing Lukas weekly for the past five years for both chronic migraines and endometriosis and I have been absolutely amazed at the results. Through acupuncture and herbs, he was able to treat both conditions and he also supported me through my pregnancy and postpartum.
Lukas is not only a knowledgable and talented acupuncturist but a lovely human being. He always takes the time to explain the rationale for a particular treatment and answers all of my numerous questions. He approaches his patients and work, with kindness and compassion. He truly is a gem!
