Getting to know Dr. Luke Swider

I am a board-certified psychiatrist who helps adults with depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and other mental health concerns attain a better quality of life. Together, we will work with the latest evidence-based medication management and psychotherapy to build a lasting connection and define and achieve your well-being goals. I received my undergraduate degree from Penn State University and my medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Following this, I completed a psychiatry residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and was granted board certification by the ABPN. During residency, I obtained specialized training in the treatment of OCD, PTSD, Long COVID-19, insomnia, and complementary and integrative medicine; I also underwent additional training in psychotherapy. After residency, I obtained extensive experience treating patients via telemedicine and I continue to treat patients primarily in this format. I emphasize shared decision-making and look forward to supporting you on your journey to better health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I typically see a new patient for 1-2 consultation appointments in order to build a connection and gather enough history to make some initial treatment recommendations. During this consultation period, I will share my opinion about an initial treatment plan. I may not start medications until after we have agreed upon an initial treatment approach.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

**Please Read before booking** I would ask that you fill out the intake forms (if not already completed) and treatment consent and credit card authorization forms (for co-pays) that are emailed to you after you book an appointment. If you are not able to complete these forms in 1 business day after booking your appointment, it will be canceled. This is to ensure that we have enough information to make our first appointment a productive use of your time.
