About Dr. Mahmudul Patwary

Dr. Mahmudul Patwary, D.O., is the interventional pain management physician at Grewal Orthopedic & Spine Care, performing fluoroscopically-guided procedures at the practice's Westbury site. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. He served as Chief Resident of Operations at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University from 2022 to 2023, then completed his Interventional Pain Management Fellowship at Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine from 2023 to 2024 — a high-volume fellowship covering the full spectrum of interventional spine and pain procedures. Dr. Patwary's procedural training includes fluoroscopically-guided epidural steroid injections (lumbar and cervical), facet joint injections and medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, sacroiliac joint injections, spinal cord stimulator trials and implants, basivertebral nerve ablation (Intracept), Vertiflex Superion implants, and MILD (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression). His clinical practice focuses on the non-surgical management of disc herniation, sciatica, spinal stenosis, facet syndrome, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, chronic back and neck pain, and post-surgical pain syndromes.
