Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I unfortunately left this appointment with more questions than answer. To no fault of her own, she is part of the network called " Talkiatry" that provide virtual only appointments. She recommended that I be seen by someone in person instead because of my condition. I had no idea I was booking with a virtual only doctor and it seems like most of the psychiatrists recommended on ZocDoc are part of this network. Just something to be aware of before you book. The doctor herself was very patient and communicated well. I do wish I had some follow up notes to bring to my next psychiatry appointment as accessing the Talkiatry portal is difficult if not impossible. She gave me some clarify about my treatment, but I do wish there was more.

Unfortunately, there is no brick and mortar facility associated with this office. Dr. Mousavi was kind, but there are limited treatment options for anxiety, PTSD, and depression in the DMV area.

Talkiatry admin staff told me that I would be accommodated for my disabilities in the first session over 4 different phone calls, the staff told me that the provider is patient understanding & she would be the person to provide the accomidations in the appointment & to keep the appointment. That was wrong. In appointment Dr. M wouldn’t accommodate me, was not patient & ignored my requests & said that we need to use the whole first session to determine if “we are a fit for eachother” because they don’t work w/ (aka discriminate) against patients with “certain diagnosis’s” which was a huge red flag. if a provider starts out an appointment like this RUN. Do not book an appointment w talkiatry if you have any diagnosis other than mild depression, mild anxiety. If you have any type of trauma or a disability I would highly recommend staying away. I said this was not a fit in the first 10 or so mins bc of the lack of accommodation & she said i will be billed regardless. This is not okay

I've seen countless Psychiatrist since I was a child. Dr. Mahsa has literally changed my life (note I have only seen her once) by simply changing my medications that I have been on for years, and by her sweet, honest, caring, approach to topics in which you want to discuss about your life. HIGHLY recommend.

It is a wonderful experience to be treated by Dr. Mousavi. She is bright and knowledgeable with the most charming bedside manner and with a good sense of humor. She really understands how to connect and I always feel she has taken the trouble to know me personally.
