About Maiko Hattori
Maiko Hattori, L.Ac, is a skilled NYS licensed acupuncturist committed to addressing both immediate discomfort and underlying causes of her patients' issues. She employs a comprehensive approach, integrating techniques such as Topicals, Auricular, Tui Na, Gua Sha, Cupping, E-stim, and other manual therapies for a well-rounded therapeutic experience.
Maiko holds a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and a Certificate in Clean Needle Technique from the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has a special interest in pelvic pain, orthopedics, pain management, gastrointestinal issues, vertigo, psychiatric conditions, and PMS + GYN. Her dedication is evident in her extensive training and background, including internships at the VA Hospital Pain Management Clinic, NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases’ Initiative for Women with Disabilities, Columbia University Student Health Center’s Athletic Program, and NYU Lutheran Stroke Rehab. These experiences gave her invaluable expertise in managing complex cases.
After her education, Maiko worked alongside an acupuncturist specializing in pelvic and back pain, refining her skills in these areas. Her patient-centered approach focuses on personalized care plans to provide lasting relief and enhance well-being. Through continuing education, she specializes in trigger/motor point acupuncture, adding precision to her treatments by targeting points linked to muscle pain and dysfunction. Absolutely the best acupuncturist I have ever seen. Extremely knowledgeable in both an eastern approach as well as a more western sports medicine approach of trigger point therapy and injury recovery. I have multiple long term injuries that she has treated and healed including mid back pain, low back pain, hip issues, and TMJ.

Maiko is simply amazing and never ease to amaze with trigger point locations and their intensity. She explores creatively with treatment that works with my body. The double needle flossing is indeed my favorite. I can experience immediate releases upon target point treatments. Keep up the amazing work.

After months of Physical therapy for three torn rotator cuff muscles and a shredded labrum did not reduce the pain enough to avoid the possibility of surgery, I went to see Maiko. Every session she listened, watched, focused, and adjusted for every new change and subtlety until she chased the pain away. The range of motion returned, and I no longer felt injured. She is an absolute miracle worker.

Maiko treated me for my knee pain due to a torn meniscus. After a couple sessions I am already able to walk up & down stairs with no pain! Definitely happy to have gone to Maiko for acupuncture instead of surgery!
