Getting to know Dr. Mandana Torabi

PLEASE NOTE: INSURANCE IS NOT ACCEPTED Hello, I am a dual board-certified psychiatrist and I previously served as Chief of Inpatient Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital. My practice is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of depression, ADHD, and anxiety disorders, with an emphasis on thoughtful, evidence-based medication management. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s clinical presentation and goals. When appropriate, treatment may also incorporate psychotherapy and other integrative strategies. Following the initial evaluation, I work closely with each patient to optimize treatment, monitor response, and make precise medication adjustments to support sustained improvement and functional recovery.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is structured, collaborative, and focused on accurate diagnosis and evidence based medication management. Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation, followed by a personalized plan aimed at improving symptoms and overall functioning over time. I take an active role in guiding care and making recommendations, while working closely with each patient to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed. I incorporate a longevity lens, considering long term outcomes, sustainability of treatment, and overall well being. My goal is efficient, effective care that leads to meaningful and sustained improvement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first step is a 60-minute initial evaluation, during which I will learn about your history, symptoms, and goals. After this evaluation, we will discuss treatment options together and determine a plan that best suits your needs. Follow-up appointments are typically 30–45 minutes and may include medication management, psychotherapy, or both, depending on your treatment plan. I aim to create a supportive space where we can work together to promote long-term mental wellness.

I wasn’t seen by the provider. I planned my day around my appointment and waited in Zocdoc’s waiting room for 20 minutes. Very disappointing.
