Getting to know Dr. Manpreet Grewal
Dr. Grewal moved to the United States from India when she was sixteen. After attending college in Michigan, she received her medical training from American University of Antigua and completed her residency at Albany Medical Center in 2015. Before joining the team at Skypiatrist, Dr. Grewal was the Medical Director and Chairperson at the HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, where she oversaw both adult and adolescent patients. Dr. Grewal comes to Skypiatrist with experience in both office-based treatment and telemedicine.
Dr. Grewal takes a compassionate approach to patient care. She understands that connection and comfort are critical to positive treatment outcomes, and strives to create both whether she sees people in-person or via a telepsychiatry platform. She has found that patients are more likely to attend appointments and discuss difficult topics when meeting from the comfort of their own homes than they are when in the doctor’s office. She is committed to providing convenient, high-quality medication management to all patients through Skypiatrist’s secure, HIPAA compliant video chat. In addition to seeing adult patients, Dr. Grewal treats children ages seven and older.
In her practice, Dr. Grewal encourages patients to take a full-body approach to their mental health, incorporating physical activity as much as possible. She is a proponent of meditation and yoga. She can also provide services in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.

I never feel like my time is wasted, and she always is willing and able to answer all questions I have regarding medicine, prescriptions, and anything else. I've been seeing Dr. Grewal for about three and a half years. She's been extremely helpful. I've found her to be especially sensitive to my particular issues and she seems genuinely concerned with my mental health. Other doctors I've seen in the past were much less so and left me feeling frustrated and hopeless. Dr. Grewal has been a godsend!

Super unprofessional and impossible to get in touch with. Her platform barely works and she almost always is late. Doesn't give out her phone number or email, only way to get in touch with her is through the software and she rarely answers messages. Don't see her unless you want to worry about getting your prescription on time every month

She messaged me 30 min before the appointment to tell me she will be 15 minutes late. It's a virtual appointment...that's supposed to be 45 minutes long. But I figured it's fine, whatever as long as I am done on time. Then 17 minutes past the hour, I message her asking if she will be joining or not, she finally opens up the virtual appointment and she's on the phone with someone else and just holds up her finger to me to wait for her. So we finally start 20 minutes late and she's sees I am annoyed and rolls her eyes and heavily sighs. I would understand if you have an emergency or something going on but then she cuts me off throughout the appointment and when I ask her to explain the procedure she wants to me follow she gets annoyed and tells me to look it up. The whole appointment lasted 15 minutes! We ended it early and started 20 minutes late. The icing on the cake is you have to sign up twice to see here, once on zocdoc and then rebook the appointment through their online system as well. It took me longer to book the appointment than to actually see her during our actual appointment.
