Getting to know Marc Exilus

Welcome to my practice! Thank you for choosing me as your psychiatric provider. Here's a bit about me: I hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized mental health care. I understand that seeking help is a significant step, and I'm here to ensure you feel comfortable as we work together toward your wellness. I have over ten years of experience in the field of psychiatry. I began my career as a registered nurse at Friends Hospital. Since 2018, I have practiced as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in various settings, including community mental health, outpatient programs, correctional facilities, and hospitals. I specialize in treating complex mental disorders such as major depressive disorder, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and addiction. I earned my master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Drexel University and my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Wilmington University. My evidence-based approach empowers patients to make informed decisions about their care. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and friends, as well as gardening.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive, judgment-free environment. I believe the best treatment decisions are made through collaboration, and I work with you to develop a personalized plan that fits your goals and needs. Your first visit includes a comprehensive evaluation of your mental health, medical history, and current concerns. Treatment may include medication management, education, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with your therapist or other healthcare providers when appropriate. My goal is to help you feel heard, informed, and empowered while supporting your journey toward improved mental wellness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My Process Our first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation where we'll discuss your symptoms, medical and mental health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. Together, we'll develop a personalized care plan that may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and referrals for therapy or other supportive services when appropriate. Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring your progress, evaluating how your treatment is working, addressing any concerns or side effects, and making adjustments as needed. ADHD Evaluation Policy: Clients seeking an ADHD diagnosis and/or treatment are required to provide a comprehensive psychological evaluation completed by a licensed psychologist. If you have not had a psychological evaluation, a computerized ADHD assessment is required. This assessment is a $175 out-of-pocket expense. The results of the computerized assessment are reviewed together with your comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to determine whether the diagnostic criteria for ADHD are met and to guide appropriate treatment recommendations. My goal is to provide collaborative, evidence-based care that supports your long-term mental wellness.
