Marcus Jang, PMHNP

Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
811 Wilshire Blvd, Ste 1700, Los Angeles, CA
Elyn Saks has said the humanity we share is more important than the mental illnesses we may have, and this is the guiding principle of my clinical practice and the cornerstone of my working relationship with you. Your success and happiness are rooted in the partnership we share. You do the hard part of being vulnerable; to the best of my ability, I will listen before we come to a shared treatment plan. The extent to which we each do our part is the measure of our success. While I primarily manage medications, all patients can benefit from therapy. Medication management is a standard offering; however, I can never recommend medicine without psychotherapy. While diagnosis is necessary in scenarios of a biological nature and the dictates of managed care, I am mindful that diagnosis can detract from your individuality, personal stories, and humanness. A true and accurate impression of you, if you will, does not happen on the first date. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles, which informs my compassionate and evidence-based approach to care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

First, I hope one can come to a better understanding and appreciation of oneself. Doing that in this setting cannot be achieved on a one way street; dialogue and discourse are necessary if the aim is a true representation of you and the issues with which you present. I also aim to help clients see paths forward, different as they may be from one another.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
