Getting to know Marguerite Joseph

I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and attention or focus concerns. I also offer Spravato (esketamine) treatment for eligible patients with treatment-resistant depression following a thorough clinical evaluation. My approach is thoughtful, evidence based, and focused on accurate diagnosis, individualized care, and helping patients understand all appropriate treatment options.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a thoughtful, structured, and supportive approach to care. I take time to understand your symptoms, history, and goals so we can create a treatment plan that truly fits you. My focus is on accurate diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing follow-up, with space for education, guidance, and practical strategies to support your progress. If advanced treatment options such as Spravato are being considered, we will first complete a thorough evaluation to determine whether it is appropriate for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to understand your concerns, symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals. From there, we develop an individualized care plan that may include medication management, education, and practical strategies to support stability and progress. For patients seeking an ADHD evaluation, I follow a structured diagnostic process. This evaluation includes a detailed psychiatric assessment, review of medical and mental health history, standardized screening tools, and objective computerized cognitive testing. The computerized ADHD test is a required part of the evaluation, takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete, and is offered as a self-pay service. Additional safety screening may include laboratory testing or urine drug screening when clinically appropriate. ADHD is a clinical diagnosis made after a full evaluation. Treatment decisions, including stimulant medications, are made only after the evaluation process is completed and medical safety factors are reviewed. Not all patients evaluated for ADHD will require or receive stimulant medication. My goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care and ensure that treatment decisions are safe, appropriate, and individualized for each patient.

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more

More information on payments and coverage

I accept many major insurance plans, including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Cigna, Evernorth, Blue Cross Blue Shield Florida, and Lucet. Coverage and benefits vary by plan, and patients are responsible for any applicable copays, deductibles, or coinsurance as determined by their insurance. For out-of-network or self-pay services, transparent self-pay rates are listed on my profile. When insurance is used, reimbursement is based on the contracted rate with your plan, and patients are not billed beyond what insurance allows. For advanced treatments such as Spravato (esketamine), a comprehensive evaluation is required to determine eligibility and coverage prior to scheduling treatment.
