Getting to know Marguerite Joseph

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive psychiatric care for adults across Florida. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, treatment-resistant depression, opioid use disorder, and alcohol use disorder. I offer Spravato (esketamine) treatment in-office for eligible patients with treatment-resistant depression. I provide Suboxone (buprenorphine) treatment for opioid use disorder and naltrexone or Vivitrol for alcohol use disorder. I support both telehealth visits across Florida and in-office visits in Palm Beach County. Care is available in English and Creole. My approach is thoughtful, evidence-based, and focused on accurate diagnosis, individualized care, and helping patients understand all appropriate treatment options.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a thoughtful, structured, and supportive approach to care. I take time to understand your symptoms, history, and goals so we can create a treatment plan that fits your life. My focus is on accurate diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing follow-up. I provide care in three languages: English and Creole. For specialty treatments such as Spravato, Suboxone, or naltrexone/Vivitrol, we will first complete a thorough evaluation to determine whether the treatment is appropriate for you. Please note: I do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or HMO insurance plans. Please verify your insurance before booking.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to understand your concerns, symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals. From there, we develop an individualized care plan that may include medication management, education, and practical strategies to support stability and progress. For patients seeking an ADHD evaluation, I follow a structured diagnostic process. This evaluation includes a detailed psychiatric assessment, review of medical and mental health history, standardized screening tools, and objective computerized cognitive testing. The computerized ADHD test is a required part of the evaluation, takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete, and is offered as a self-pay service. For patients seeking treatment for opioid use disorder (Suboxone) or alcohol use disorder (naltrexone or Vivitrol), I follow a careful evaluation process that includes a detailed substance use history, medical assessment, and discussion of your treatment goals. I support both sobriety and moderation approaches for alcohol use disorder. Vivitrol injections are administered in-office. Suboxone treatment includes regular follow-up visits to monitor progress. For patients seeking Spravato (esketamine) treatment for treatment-resistant depression, a thorough evaluation is required to determine eligibility. Spravato is administered in-office only, in a private and monitored setting. Additional safety screening may include laboratory testing or urine drug screening when clinically appropriate. Diagnoses are made after full clinical evaluations. Treatment decisions, including medications such as stimulants or controlled substances, are made only after the evaluation process is completed and medical safety factors are reviewed. My goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care and ensure that treatment decisions are safe, appropriate, and individualized for each patient."
